@ChrisGibsonEdu A3: my co-teacher has done this project before, and she said that since this project was more engaging and completed at the end of the year, she really saw an improvement in the students writing because they wanted people to be convinced and come to it!

@ChrisGibsonEdu A2: This spring they interviewed local artists and worked with photographers to learn about portraits and street photography. They compiled their work in a calendar we're sending to local schools to highlight diverse artists.

@ChrisGibsonEdu A3: students were finally able to see math being used somewhere β€œnot typical”. They always think math is only used for engineering, teaching, etc. It also sparked interest in students wanting to go into a field using math behind the scenes.

Ahmed Geddy American Islamic School I'm impressed by third-grade students designing their own playground. They learned about physical activity, play, and creating an inclusive environment. PBL empowers young minds to think creatively. Thanks, American Islamic School!

I have looked at this book more than a few times and have thought it would make an excellent project. It’s a collection of stories and interviews from every town in North Dakota. This will be a great multi year project for an ELA or classroom! chat

@ChrisGibsonEdu A2: The students first watched the video on the designer. Then, they created their design on a paper coordinate plane. Using slope-intercept and point-slope form, they created the design on Desmos from the drawing they made.

@ChrisGibsonEdu A1: I gave my students a project that answered β€œhow can I use linear equations in real life?” We watched a video on a clothing designer that used linear equations to design her clothing. The students used linear equations to design their own shirts! Chat
