On the leading edge of the storm that became severe, this photo was taken of the shelf cloud. A shelf cloud usually covers the whole horizon whereas a wall cloud is only in an isolated spot in the back of a thunderstorm.
[11:11 PM]- The cells that developed over Freeborn and Mower counties will be out within the next hour, and are not expected to become severe. After these storms are out, our rain chances will be isolated, at best, before skies clear up overnight. #mnwx#iawx#abc6wx
There is a risk for a few strong to severe storms tonight. Storms will arrive in our area around 6-7 PM and exit around 10-11 PM. Hail and high winds remain the top threats, but a tornado cannot be totally ruled out.
[7:04 PM]- Storms have stayed sub-severe so far, but there is an area of strong thunderstorm activity west of I-35 due to winds up around 40-50 MPH. It was previously producing small hail on radar, but returns have not been showing up recently. #mnwx#iawx#abc6wx

The extreme drought conditions are mostly gone. We do still have moderate to severe drought conditions, but more rain this weekend should help continue to fix drought conditions.
[7:16 PM TUES.] - This line of thunderstorms has had a history of producing strong wind gusts. 42 MPH reported in Wells and a 46 MPH wind gust was reported in Algona. As these storms move east, they are expected to weaken. #mnwx#iawx#abc6wx
[9:33 PM] - Storms are becoming more common around I-35. Storms continue into the overnight hours. A strong to severe storm cannot be completely ruled out, but threats were much higher to our south earlier in the day.
