Despite the lower β-carotene content, has a higher bioavailability of this antioxidant & anti-inflammatory nutrient compared to leafy vegetables like spinach. Release of β-carotene from the vegetable matrix is one of the main limiting factors in its availability.

Q4. The increase in uric acid is real and counseling on and hydration is crucial (yet another role for diets). Diuretics can make worse so counsel my patients about this.
