Arctic Tern from Twitchers Gate in the last of the evening light. The final shot isn’t a painting- unfortunately it requires heavy denoising and cropping! #wiltsbirds @cwpbirds
A Curlew related update......
This bird has been re-sighted on the Exe Estuary in the last couple of weeks. A movement of about 155 km from its breeding site. A great re-sighting adding vital data to our knowledge of these birds.

A full day in the field. At CWP colour ringed Great White Egret from the Somerset Levels plus a pair of Garganey, 21 Pintail & singing Gropper. Back in Swindon a female Ring Ouzel along Mill Lane was an unexpected bonus #wiltsbirds
At least 30 Siskin’s in the garden this week, along with a few Redpoll. (Never had that many before). Firecrest along the road. 8 Wheatear on the downs in one visit. Yesterday, Siskin, Crossbill and Bramling in a local wood. It’s been a good birding week so far. #wiltsbirds
The Siskin flock is still coming into the garden every morning. It’s nice to be woken up by their calls. This is from a few weeks ago, I think I counted 22 just on the floor. More were on the feeder and in the Alder tree. (Photo taken through the Bi-folds). #wiltsbirds
Been a busy few days. Two RSPB volunteer farm surveys completed. Highlights 4 Lesser Throat, 13 Wheatear and good numbers of Cornies. Today first Garden Warbler ringed 👍 retrapped a Reed Warbler from 2022 with a Chiffchaff and Long Tailed Tits from 2021 #wiltsbirds
