Beautiful Stock Dove - Columba oenas on the bird-feeder, with its iridescent neck patch glistening in the morning sun. An underrated bird. Plate by Ian Lewington from ‘Guide to Garden Wildlife’.

Another woodland trapping session with my sister last night near Plymouth. My 3 traps had 131 of 34 with 12 NFYs. Good numbers of Brindled Beauty (28) & Great Prominent (24) among the species and my first trap visit by Adela reaumurella (3). Trap probably placed near a roost

This it's the turn of the tiger moths! 🐯

Look out for the spectacular Ruby Tiger (Phragmatobia fuliginosa) this month. The further south in the UK you get, the brighter these moths appear in colour!

Acadian Flycatcher near Moncks Corner this afternoon. Luckily this bird called a few times, otherwise ID from other flycatchers can be tricky! #
