On this day 1972 a fierce FA Cup semi-final between Stoke City and The #Arsenal at Villa Park. George Armstrong gave the lead to the Gunners but injured keeper Bob Wilson couldn't prevent the Potters' equaliser and needed to be replaced in goal by striker John Radford.

Still my favourite John Sullivan line…

En route to double:

OTD 1971, on a Tuesday night at Nottingham, The #Arsenal showed some championship form to brush of Forest 3-0 with the goals from McLintock, Kennedy and George. Still with two games on hand, the Gunners squeezed the gap to leaders Leeds to only two points.
