SIDS 2.0 High Level Conference on Digitalization will have an stellar opening session 🌟

Delighted to have Min. Bacchus 🇹🇹, Michelle Muschett, UNDP ASG 🇺🇳and Vice Minister Takeuchi 🇯🇵 to set the tone for what can be a groundbreaking event for the Caribbean.

Ministers and Senior Officials from all the countries and the Caribbean are meeting to define the pathway to SIDS 2.0 = Small Island DIGITAL States. A common vision on key dimensions and ways to monitor progress will be discussed for a strong regional position on digitalization.

UN Environment Programme Vincent Sweeney UN Environment Programme_LatAm UN Sustainable Development Group 🇺🇳 United Nations Jamaica Multi-country Office UN Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean UN Guyana UNSuriname United Nations Trinidad and Tobago CARICOM: Caribbean Community Addressing the #Caribbean sub-region's rising crime rates, Ugo Blanco, Resident Representative at UNDP Trinidad and Tobago Multi Country Office said much more needs to be done, calling for action on crime prevention and social cohesion, democratic governance, and institutional dialogues to prevent polarisation.

🤯What a wealth of knowledge, ideas and energy displayed by the UWI St. Augustine delegation! A lot of synergies on research & data (and their use), climate change, youth, work w/ communities and justice among others.
