Meet Shahad, born after his mother Aya's five-year struggle to conceive.

Throughout her nine months of pregnancy, Aya lived in fear, worried that the ongoing war in Gaza would threaten her unborn child.

Now, as she prepares to leave the hospital, her fear persists.

“I was shot at. I was at my grandparents' house playing with my uncle’s birds.” 9-year-old Jouri in Gaza.

Children do not start wars, and they cannot end them, but they always pay the highest price. They need a ceasefire now.

Today marks 1 year of brutal war in Sudan. The conflict has led to a catastrophic loss of children's lives.

4 million children are displaced, 18 million are out of school and famine looms with every passing day.

We cannot forget the children of Sudan when they need us most.

Delays. Access restrictions. Shooting.

On Tuesday, UNICEF's humanitarian convoy was hit by live ammunition on the way to deliver aid to north Gaza.

Our staff are safe, but the immense difficulties of delivering aid are making it nearly impossible to meet children's needs.

1 in 4 children in EU countries are at risk of poverty or social exclusion. This is an increase of almost 1 million children since 2019.

A UNICEF staff member in Gaza recounts the story of a 14-year-old unaccompanied girl walking alone from Gaza City to the south.

UNICEF, together with partners, helped this little girl to stay in a safe place.

Right now, about 1200 UN and NGO trucks are waiting to enter Gaza. Why?

Because the processing and screening is long and complex, limiting the number of trucks that can cross into Gaza and slowing the entry of this lifesaving aid.
