The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway was opened in 1903. One of many lines built as a result of the Light Railway Act of 1896, it was operated by the Cambrian Railway and then the GWR, we have drawings for locomotives & stock in our Swindon collection

Its and on 29 February 1888 the remarkable Listowel and Ballybunion Railway opened. It used the Lartigue monorail system and it was the only railway of its type in the UK or Ireland. The system did prove to have some drawbacks and it closed in 1924.
