DG of Information Management Center - Puntland presented the achievements of IMC Puntland in the past years and the plans of the years to come, at the government retreat chaired by the president of Puntland

The image below shows how pastoral communities are more prone to climate shocks mainly because they have limited access to forecast data. IMC is striving to enhance the dissemination of climate-related information to those who need it most.

FAO in Somalia Representative, Etienne Peterschmitt, paid a courtesy visit to the Information Management Centre for Water and Land Resources in Puntland, Information Management Center - Puntland.

This centre is the tangible result of SWALIM's efforts to transfer its functions to the #Somali Institutions.

Information Management Center - Puntland DG Abdinur Ali Jama & the technical staff, had a fruitful discussion with the CD of FAO in Somalia Etienne Peterschmitt, along with a distinguished delegation.

🌧️ Rainfall Forecast 11–17 Oct:
Moderate rain is expected (20–50 mm) in most regions. Cayn, Sool, Sanaag, Nugaal, and Karkaar would likely receive (100 mm) of rain.
🚨 Buuhoodle, Taleex, Xudun, Ceerigaabo, Qardho, and Dangoroyo communities are advised to take care until Oct 17.

🌧️Cumulative rainfall forecast (Oct 3-9) for Puntland indicates moderate rains in Mudug, Nugaal, Cayn, Sool, Sanaag, Haylaan, and Karkaar (20-50mm), While Taleex may experience over 100mm.
Residents in flood-prone areas (Qardho, Badhan, Dhahar) are advised be caution until Oct 9.

Information Management Center - Puntland met with line ministries at the IMC Center to discuss upcoming Deyr rain season forecasts. Signs hint at a 1997-like heavy season.
