So far, our winter drink/drug drive campaign, #OpLimit has seen 127 drink drivers and 318 drug drivers arrested.

We are cracking down on intoxicated drivers who choose to put other people’s lives at risk when they get behind the wheel.

Driver stopped in Farncombe by #VanguardRST as fog lights on (in good visibility) but no headlights. Appeared slightly intoxicated; provided a ➕️ #DrugWipe for cannabis & roadside breath reading of 59, arrested. In custody, blew 63 & failed to provide blood; charged.

New Years day saw the end of our drink and drug drive campaign ( #OpLimit ). During the 6 week period we arrested 661 drivers, 469 drug and 192 drink. That brings the 2023 total to 4125 arrests, 2730 drug, 1268 drink and 127 fail to provides.

Good shift back last night, after sighting a vehicle in the city centre contravening traffic signs 🚫in-front of a marked police vehicle 🚓 the naughty driver showed all signs of drunkenness 🍻and blew 70 at the road side, 97 in custody #oplimit

In the run up to Christmas a driver was arrested for Drink Driving in #Grays was found to be twice the limit.

Has been to court and sentenced to the following

A Rota have had a busy night, we've dealt with several drink and drug drivers across the county who think its acceptable to put innocent drivers at risk, including this driver who initially failed to stop before choosing the wise option, he was over double the limit!! #OpLimit

Busy shift yesterday dealing with several incidents including a single vehicle collision, a report of a male with an axe and then later an arrest of an uninsured drug driver.

Intelligence led policing resulted in this van being stopped in the #Thurrock area. Passenger arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop from an earlier incident. Driver arrested for failing a drug wipe and vehicle seized as he had an expired licence. #OpLimit

Team 5 RPU Officers have been conducting drink/drug drive checks on Colne Rd Burnley. 99% blew zero but surprisingly a Taxi driver provided a positive sample of 56 against the legal limit of 35 and was duly arrested.

More than 200 motorists were arrested on suspicion of drink or drug-driving offences during December in Surrey alone.
