Completed a 55 km ultramarathon in Snowdonia over the weekend! Over 3300m of elevation. Brutal race, lot of fun!

On April 21st, 2024 I ran the 34th Challenge Fuji 5 Lakes Ultramarathon in Yamanashi, Japan. (118 km division)

I live tweeted the event as it happened. This thread is going to put the live Tweets together in one place. 🧵🪡

I saw Gwala recently. He is his usual self. Previous op went VERY well. But remember it's not a sprint but an ultramarathon..there are a few more steps ahead. But I promise you...Xolani is exceeding all expectations. My darling friend is still standing. That IS significant

Congrats to OCC alumnus Haroldas Subertas, who finished 1st (and set a new course record of 59:50:55) at the Cocodona 250, a grueling 250 mile ultramarathon through the heart of Arizona. Haroldas was a 2-time R19 champ in 2011-12 with our XC team, under Head Coach Eddie Baynes.

So yesterday I finished my first ultramarathon, a 56km run - and eventually crawl - around Northamptonshire (good race btw if anyone's looking for one)!

I figured this would be a good time to do a fundraising plea to twitter in advance of my 100km effort this summer 😆

I finished a 250 km, self-supported, multistage ultramarathon in Namibia w/ RACINGTHEPLANET . The race thru the desert was really tough because of heat 🥵(up to 54oC). The desert was beautiful & harsh. There were over 120 competitors from 46 countries. bit.ly/4cECUsl

a glorious day if a little too hot! Quite looking forward to being the support team this time round with the snacks & the camp chair. This year’s leg starts at Tayinloan & finishes in Tarbert via Clachan & Skipness.
